MYSTIC MOOG ORCHESTRA (2.4.03)
MYSTIC MOOG ORCHESTRA NEW ALBUM / CONCERT / RECORDING SESSION
"It's horrible, ugly, irritating noise, without melody, harmony, rhythm, structure, musicality, or any meaning at all... well, I hate it!!!"
-CRITIQUARIUM
"The idea is that there are no notes, no melodies and no rhythm. If someone starts playing notes, 'they're outta there.' "
-RAYGUN MAGAZINE
"A continuing Detroit concern that finds at least twelve friends all playing moogs at the same time. The only apparent rule: Nobody can play any notes."
-ALTERNATIVE PRESS
In 2003 the MYSTIC MOOG ORCHESTRA recorded a new album. This exciting event was held on Tuesday February 4th from 8-10 pm at CPOP GALLERY. This concert/ recording session was very loud and confusing!!!
Participants were reminded to bring a MOOG brand analog synthesizer (the MYSTIC MOOG ORCHESTRA is not interested in Korgs, Rolands, Krummars etc). Participants were also reminded that although this concert will be recorded, there will be no rehearsals and only one simple direction will be given, "DON'T PLAY ANY MUSIC, NO NOTES, NO RHYTHM, NO CHORDS, AND OF COURSE NO MELODY."
Traditional musical techniques are meaningless compared to the beautiful warm natural sound of a moog synthesizer.
